To meet different application needs, our steel grating products are divided into several categories based on welding method, bearing bar shape, application, and material.
1. By Welding Method
The connection method directly affects structural strength and load capacity. We offer four proven welding types:
· Press-locked grating – Most common type. Cross bars are pressed into bearing bars using high‑pressure resistance welding. Strong connection, good value.
· Riveted grating – Cross bars are inserted into pre‑cut slots on bearing bars. Suitable for special size requirements.
· Swage‑locked grating – Mechanically locked without welding. Easy to install and remove on site.
· Punched and welded grating – Cross bars go through holes in bearing bars and are then welded. Combines mechanical locking and welding for extra reliability.
2. By Bearing Bar Shape
The shape of the flat bar’s side surface determines slip resistance and effective load area.
· Plain (flat) bar – Smooth surface. Suitable for dry indoor areas where flatness is more important than high slip resistance.
· Serrated bar – One side has teeth for excellent slip resistance. Ideal for oily, wet environments (e.g. offshore platforms, chemical plants) or outdoor stair treads.
· I‑bar – Shaped like an I‑beam. Gives higher side strength and load capacity with the same amount of material. Suitable for heavy loads or long spans.
3. By Application
We offer general‑purpose and customised solutions.
· General steel grating – For standard industrial platforms, walkways, fences, etc.
· Specialised steel grating – Optimised for specific scenarios:
– Trench cover grating – High load capacity plus efficient drainage.
– Stair tread grating – Designed with anti‑slip teeth and mounting structure for safe stair use.
4. By Material
This is the core choice that decides product lifespan.
· Carbon steel grating – Cost‑effective. Usually hot‑dip galvanised for rust protection. Suitable for most industrial applications.
· Stainless steel grating – Excellent corrosion resistance. Ideal for food processing, chemical plants, coastal areas – almost maintenance‑free.
